In the context of Democritus University of Thrace’s participation in the European University Alliance EMERGE, an invitation is extended to undergraduate and postgraduate students to serve on the Evaluation Committee for Collaborative Projects.

In the context of the European project EMERGE, we invite you to participate in the Evaluation Committee for Collaborative Projects.

What is a Collaborative Project?

Within the framework of EMERGE, a Call for Proposals for Collaborative Projects is being launched, addressed to collaborating groups such as universities, community organizations, or businesses, and seeking ideas for initiatives with a positive social, educational, and/or innovative impact.

Proposals may include actions in the fields of education, society, culture, or innovation and should promote inclusion, resilience, and sustainability, such as workshops, exhibitions, educational programs, or small community interventions.

The proposals submitted under the above Call will be evaluated by the Evaluation Committee, which will select the most interesting and feasible ones and will support their implementation in practice.

The Evaluation Committee is composed of regular and alternate members, namely:

three (3) members of the EMERGE project team and their respective alternates,

one (1) student and his/her alternate, as well as

one (1) community representative and his/her alternate.

Your participation in the Committee will give you the opportunity to contribute with your student perspective to the selection process of proposals that aim to:

develop innovative practices, strengthen cooperation between universities and external bodies, create solutions that address real problems in education, society, and/or the labor market, with an emphasis on inclusion, resilience, and sustainability.

You will gain valuable experience in project evaluation processes and active participation in a European project, as well as a certificate of participation.

Important!

The invitation concerns undergraduate or postgraduate students who will be active in their studies (registered in the respective study programs) during the period July – October 2026 The meetings of the Evaluation Committee will be held remotely, in order to facilitate participation The student who will be selected must be physically present at the “Open Days” event, which will take place in October. During the event, the final selection of the proposal(s) that will qualify for an event with public participation (faculty members, DUTH staff, students, and members of the local community) will take place.

Student selection criteria:

Interest and willingness to actively participate

Relevant experience in collaborative projects or activities with educational,

social and/or business impact

Availability & commitment for the scheduled evaluation meetings during the period July – October 2026.

From the applications, the following will be selected:

one (1) regular member, and one (1) alternate member, who will participate in case of the regular member’s inability.

The form includes:

A short text answering the question: Why do I want to participate? (up to 150 words).

A short CV (up to 1 page)

A statement of availability (for online meetings and participation in the “Open Days” event)

A statement of no conflict of interest.

Only students who are not participating or intend to participate in a proposal submission group within the framework of the Collaborative Project are eligible to participate.

Results:

The selection results will be announced via email by Friday, February 27, 2026.
